Snapshot PA: One Day in the Life of Pennsylvania Libraries
On Wednesday, October 28th libraries all across Pennsylvania will be taking pictures to capture the impact that Pennsylvania libraries have on their communities on a typical day. The Mengle Memorial Library will be hosting several events on that day.
Young at Heart: Soup, Social & Games
The Mengle Memorial Library in Brockway, PA will be having their first Young at Heart program on Wednesday, October 28th at 12:00 p.m. Come to the library for Soup, Social, board games, and to experience the library’s new Wii gaming system. The Young at Heart Programs will be held on a weekly basis starting in November. Programs will include health and fitness, technology (including computer and Internet usage, and technology gadgets: cell phones, digital cameras, and electronic book readers), watercolor instruction, classic movie showings, current events discussions, games (card games, board games, and Wii gaming), and more!

The Legend of Sleepy Hollow
The Mengle Memorial Library invites you to come to the library on Wednesday, October 28th at 6:00 p.m. to spend a night with Washington Irving’s classic tale “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.” A reading of the legend will be followed by a viewing of a movie adaptation of the story. This story may not be suitable for young children.
“The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” is one of many books the library received as part of a National Endowment of the Humanities (NEH) award titled We the People Bookshelf collection.
