October Events


Upcoming Events
Lapsit & Play as Learning - Tuesday, October 23rd at 6 pm
Special storytime that models reading activities for parents, followed by a fun program that encourages parents and caregivers to play with their children.  This event is for parents and their children under the age of 5. 

Family Development Time - Tuesday October 30th at 6pm
Shows parents fun, easy activities they can do to improve the brain development of their children.  This event is for parents and their children under the age of 5.  Please REGISTER for this event at the library so we know how many meals to order!

Dear Ralph - Monday, October 29th at 1 pm
Honor our local veterans who served our country in World War II by coming to the library for a program on “Dear Ralph” presented by Norma Gregorio.  Norma spent countless hours compiling and editing the letters written to and from local soldiers serving in World War II and Ralph Durbin, the editor of the Brockway Record during the war.  “Dear Ralph” was meant as a tribute to all veterans of all wars who served under extreme hardships and who deserve to be appreciated and respected for their efforts to keep America safe and free.

October 22nd - Ebooks at the library!
October 29th - “Dear Ralph” World War II book presented by Norma Gregorio and Jim Sterrett

Regular Story Times will be held Tuesdays at 11 am starting October 16, 2012

Teen & ‘Tween - Tuesdays at 4 pm
October 16 - Movie ~ “Monster House”
October 23 - Crafty Me - Book Pumpkins
October 30- Movie ~ “Monsters, Inc.”

Family Movie - Saturday, October 13th at 11:30 am
We will be watching “Where the Wild Things Are.”  Remember: All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Evening Book Group - Tuesday, October 16th at 6 pm
We will be discussing Tinkers by Paul Harding

Afternoon Readers Group - Wednesday, October 17th at 1:15 pm
Everyone is welcome to attend!  Come discuss your opinions on the books you have recently read.
