MONOPOLY® Tournament

Calling all MONOPOLY® game fans! The Mengle Memorial Library in Brockway will host a MONOPOLY® Game Tournament on Thursday, November 12th from 4:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at the Mengle Memorial Library.

The tournament includes two 90-minute preliminary rounds of the MONOPOLY® game that each participant is required to play, as well as a final round of play with the top six competitors to determine the winner. If you are interested in testing your real estate trading skills, contact the Mengle Memorial Library at 814-265-8245.

Upcoming Events

Kindergarten Bus Trip

The annual Kindergarten Bus Trip will be held onThursday, August 27th at 10:00 a.m. Take a bus trip with your child from the library, to the school, and back to the library. This event is held in conjunction with the School Tour for incoming Kindergartners and their parents. This will give your child an opportunity to adjust to the new experience of riding the bus before the first day of school.

Science and Math Activity Program

Tuesday, September 1st at 10:00 a.m. the library will be having a science and math activity program for preschool aged children. Parents and day care providers will learn how to incorporate easy science and math concepts into your daily routine.

Story Hours

The Weekly story hour will resume on Monday, September 8th at 10:00 a.m.

Pendelton’s Day Care story hour will begin on Tuesday, September 9th at 10:00 a.m. These weekly programs include stories, crafts, and snack time. Come join the fun at any time!

Summer Reading Program Ending Party

The Summer Reading Program Ending Party will be held on Tuesday, August 4th at 11:30 a.m. Join us for a musical presentation by Mackenzie Bart and pizza donated by Fox’s Pizza of Brockway.
Don’t forget to write the books you read this summer in your reading logs at the library or online. Every child who reads 10 books or more receives a Summer Reading Program t-shirt.
A special prize is being awarded to the child who has read the most this summer.

Brazilian Music & Jazz




Come experience a night of Brazilian Music and Jazz at the Mengle Memorial Library in Brockway. On Tuesday, July 21st at 6:30 p.m. the library will be hosting the Commonwealth Speaker Flavio Chamis, a conductor and composer from Pittsburgh.

This presentation will cover much of the richly diverse and ebullient music that Brazil has to offer. Several well-known songs will be presented in their original Brazilian recordings, accompanied by an English translation of the lyrics. Spend a summer night enjoying music at the library.


This presentation is a program of the Pennsylvania Humanities Council, a Federal-State partner of the National Endowment for the Humanities. The PHC inspires people to come together and share a life of learning. Since 1973, the PHC has provided resources that empower local groups to help their communities explore history, literature, the arts and the ideas that shape the human experience.

The annual 4th of July Book Sale will be held:

Saturday is Bag Day… A bagful of books for $2.00
