December Events


Lapsit & Play as Learning – Tuesday, December 4th at 5:30 pm
Special storytime that models reading activities for parents, followed by a fun program that encourages parents and caregivers to play with their children.  This event is for parents and their children under the age of 5.

Santa Claus is coming to the library! - Thursday, December 13th at 6:00 pm 
Christmas stories will be read, carols will be sung and Santa and Mrs. Claus will be available for pictures.  Don’t forget your camera! 

Remember: Santa’s sleigh is already packed, and he cannot get to your presents!  So parents, please drop off a wrapped gift from Santa to your child at the library before the program starts with their name clearly written on the package.  Parents please register child up for the event by calling 265-8245 or by visiting the library.

Family Development Time


2nd Tuesday of every Month @ 5:30 pm

These programs will feature a free dinner for the families.  Please REGISTER (call 265-8245) for this event at the library so we know how many meals to order. 

The first program is sponsored in Memory of Russ Quinn and the December program is sponsored by Apple Tractor.  Thank you to our sponsors! 

Parents will learn easy, fun activities they can do with their children at home to prepare their child for learning.  The families will receive a goody bag containing a board book, a puppet, handouts with information on early learning and flyers with other activities parents can do with their children.

Weather

Due to impending weather the library will close at 2 pm today (Monday, October 28th) and we have canceled all programs for Tuesday, October 30th.

Remember: The library will close whenever the Brockway School District closes due to poor weather.

Dear Ralph - Monday, October 29th at 1 pm
Honor our local veterans who served our country in World War II by coming to the library for a program on “Dear Ralph” presented by Norma Gregorio.  Norma spent countless hours compiling and editing the letters written to and from local soldiers serving in World War II and Ralph Durbin, the editor of the Brockway Record during the war.  “Dear Ralph” was meant as a tribute to all veterans of all wars who served under extreme hardships and who deserve to be appreciated and respected for their efforts to keep America safe and free.
