Veterans ~ J. David Petruzzi will present a program that will begin with a
short general history about the Civil War. Then he will focus on the
war's impact to the Brockway area, as well as a discussion of a number of
soldiers from the area who served in the war.

Kindergarten Bus Trip
Join your Kindergartener on
their first bus ride!
The Mengle Memorial Library in
Brockway will be hosting the annual Kindergarten Bus Trip on Thursday, August 22nd
for Kindergarten students at the Brockway Area Elementary School. The bus will be leaving the library at 10:00
am. Please come a few minutes early so
you do not miss your ride.
The bus will depart from the
library and go to the school. This event
is held on the same day as the School Tour for incoming Kindergarteners and
their parents. The bus will return
everyone back to the library after the School Tour is over.
This will give your child an
opportunity to adjust to the new experience of riding the bus before the first
day of school.

One
Book, One Community - During the month of May the Mengle Memorial Library will be
promoting the One Book, One Community concept focused around the book Bright
from the Start by Dr. Jill Stamm. Over the past few months the
library has been holding programs on early learning. Bright from the
Start was the inspiration for these programs. The library is
encouraging the Brockway community to learn the easy ways they can positively
affect the young children in our community.

Early Learning Training - Saturday, May 18th at 10
am & Tuesday, May 28th at 6 pm
This one hour program will illustrate to adults different activities they
can do with children under the age of 5 to stimulate brain development. The library is encouraging anyone who has or
works with small children to come to the training.
